Tonia Johnson will lead us through some breathing and mindfulness exercises to get us focused and grounded for a day of learning and developing.
9:30 – 10:45 AM Your Power: Creating & Receiving Psychological Safety
Dr. Elizabeth Fleming
Psychological Safety is now widely accepted as a necessary condition of effective workplace cultures. And yet, creating such an environment is often easier said than done. While leaders need to be the majority stakeholders in cultivating psychological safety, every individual in the organization plays a role in receiving and propagating that felt sense of safety. This session will explore the role that power (positional and personal) plays in the quest for psychological safety, regardless of one’s role in the organization. Attendees will have an in-depth understanding of the role that they play in impacting psychological safety and will develop an actionable plan that can be implemented immediately for leveraging their power to further cultivate psychological safety.
10:45 – 11:00 AM Break
11:00 – 12:15 PM Boundaries: A Key to Psychological Freedom
Dr. April Seifert & Dr. Ashley Smith
Most of us yearn for healthier boundaries – in all areas of our lives. We know it would be best to say “no” to that project, and yet we don’t. In this session Drs. April Seifert and Ashley Smith will take us on a journey of understanding what really gets in the way of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries. After exploring what gets in the way for you personally, we’ll get some concrete strategies for setting boundaries in any setting, responding to people who do not respect your boundaries, dealing with unsafe people, and helping others with boundary setting.
12:15 – 1:00 PM Break for Lunch
1:00 – 2:30 PM Panel Discussion: Emotions at Work
Panelists: Rhonda Williams, Jane Schuette, Tracy Murphy, Marcel Brunel
Moderators: Dr. Tim Johansson & Dr. Casey Lankow
Being “too emotional” has been used as a criticism for decades, particularly in the workplace. And yet, humans are innately emotional beings. Our panel of coaches, leaders, and experts will offer personal reflections on their experiences with emotions at work while discussing how the idea of keeping emotions out of the workplace isn’t sustainable. Questions and comments from conference attendees will be welcomed. Finally, the panel will offer practical solutions for how emotions can be leveraged in the workplace to improve engagement, productivity, and belonging.
2:30 – 2:45 PM Break
2:45 – 4:00 PM Breaking Free from What’s Actually Holding You Back
Dr. Casey Lankow & Dr. Tim Johansson
This session takes a deep dive into the one thing that ultimately determines how we show up in each moment. Regardless of who you are or where you are in life, the insight and practical steps gained from this session are guaranteed to have an immediate positive impact.
Friday, May 20, 2022
9:00 – 10:15 AM Morning Session
Dr. Curt Levang
Dr. Levang discusses the impact of psychological needs in the workplace.
10:15 – 10:30 AM Break
10:30 – 11:15 AM Unconditional Positive Accountability For Yourself & Others
Accountability is a necessary element in the world of work – and yet, we tend to approach it in a backwards, ineffective manner, which makes it much more difficult than it needs to be. This session will integrate and apply the skills that you’ve learned at the conference into how you can more effectively hold yourself and others accountable.
11:15 – 12:00 PM Enduring: Setting Intentions
Dr. Casey Lankow & Dr. Tim Johansson
Closing experiencing in which attendees are led through an exercise to reflect on your conference experience and set intentions to take the growth back into your work and life.
