Welcome to February!  This month we are exploring Motivation and the Self.

Remember that the most important relationship is the one we have with our self.  We’ll explain how cultivating a deeper relationship with our selves greatly impacts our capacity for motivation.

Indeed, this concept of motivation has been around for a long time.  Over the years there have been a lot of theories about motivation.  In fact, within Cognitive Psychology alone there are over 18 distinct theories.

You’re likely familiar with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Herzberg’s Two Factor theory, the Hawthorne Effect, growth versus fixed mindset, and countless others.  And let’s not forget operant conditioning, positive reinforcement, and Adam’s equity theory.

Even Henry Ford got into the motivational theory game when he said “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right”.

So, what can you expect from us at A Deeper Way this month when we look at Motivation and the Self?

We will explore how crucial the act of acceptance is, examine how having a clear connection to “our why” helps us sustain motivation, and look into the dimensions of knowing and how our state of motivation resides differently on each.

In next week’s video, Tim will share four things about our relationship with our self that greatly impact motivation.

The third week of February, Casey will walk you through how to leverage your ADW | Companion and Profile to gain deeper individual insight into aspects of yourself that impact your unique motivational styles.

Aubree will end the month with some more effective tips and techniques for starting your day off motivated and focused.

As a reminder, there is no Third Thursday this month for our Certified Facilitators.  We’ll be back together in March.

We will be welcoming our newest cohort of Certified Facilitators this month!  Seminar week is February 7th through the 11th.  While February Seminar has been sold out, there are still openings for April and September Certification Seminar.  And we’re back with Season 6 of Psychology at Work Podcast – first episode drops in your podcast feeds on February 4!

And our Annual Conference – Humanity at Work – is right around the corner: May 18-20th in Minneapolis.  Early bird registration is open now.

So, stay tuned next week when Tim takes us deeper into Motivation and the Self.
